Artist Ansel Adams

Winter Sunrise, Sierra Nevada from Lone Pine, California, 1944

No other photographer has captured the world quite like Ansel Adams.  And no other gallery has captured the world of Ansel Adams quite like the Weston Gallery.

We are the world's largest and finest source for fine prints and portfolios by Ansel Adams. We offer everything from the rarest and earliest prints he made in the 20's and 30's to the breathtaking and dramatic images Adams printed in the 60's and 70's.  The Weston Gallery is also pleased to be the exclusive agent for the Ansel Adams Museum Set.

The Museum Set

In August of 1978, Gallery owner Maggi Weston approached Ansel Adams with a concept for what was to become the Museum Set Edition of Fine Prints.  Adams had wanted a way to make his most important and favorite images available to a wide range of institutions and Maggi's proposal became the perfect solution.  Originally it was conceived as a master set of 2500 prints created from 70 images selected by Adams.  Though he was able to complete a substantial number of the prints, his death in 1984 curtailed the long range plans for the project.

Images from the master set are now available in groups of 20 prints.  Following guidelines established by Ansel, the purchasing institution makes it's own selection from the remaining prints; thus each selection is unique with no two groups exactly alike.

Some restrictions do apply.  Details are available to qualified applicants upon request.
