ark Citret was born in 1949 in Buffalo, New York, and grew up in San Francisco. He has been photographing seriously since 1968.
 
He teaches photography in both the University of California, Berkeley and Santa Cruz Extension programs. His work is exhibited widely, and is in many museum, corporate, and private collections, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, New Orleans Museum of Art, the University of Arizona's Center for Creative Photography, Bank of America, Pacific Bell, and Hewlett Packard.
 
For the last twenty years he has had an architectural photography business in the San Francisco Bay Area, photographing for architects, builders, and architechtural magazines. He lives in Daly City, California with his wife Diana, and twin sons, Toby and Cole.
