Biography
Rolfe
Horn, born in Walnut Creek, California, has had
a fascination with photography from an early age,
beginning when he first used his father’s camera
to capture memories of hikes in the East Bay and
Lake Tahoe. Working with a commercial photographer
after college, Rolfe then went on to study landscape
photography with Mark Citret. Graduating from Brooks
College in Santa Barbara in 1996, Rolfe was named
outstanding graduate of his class. Following graduation
he returned to the Bay Area and began to study the
surrealistic nature of the land, searching out abstract
forms or working at night. A short time later Rolfe
met Michael Kenna, and soon became his assistant.
He chose from that point on to pursue a career in
photography as a fine art. In 2001 he released his
first monograph, Angkor, and in 2003 his
second book was published, 28 Photographs.
